The UCLA/Orthopaedic Hospital Center for Cerebral Palsy is dedicated to educating healthcare professionals on current management techniques in cerebral palsy. The faculty is available to present educational seminars to assist the practitioner in determining optimal treatment options for patients with cerebral palsy. For those practitioners interested, individual training modules are available.
In conjunction with the UniHealth foundation, the Center developed a booklet for professionals entitled “For the Healthcare Professional: A Reference Guide to Newer Treatments in Cerebral Palsy”. The booklet describes the indications for botulinum toxin A (Botox ®), intrathecal baclofen pump and selective posterior rhizotomy, including patient selection criteria and advantages and disadvantages.
